As avid outdoors recreators, John and his wife, Liz, jumped at the chance to move to Salt Lake in 2001 when an opening for a chemical engineer became available at Chevron’s Utah office. Just a handful of years later John made the decision to stay in Salt Lake and take early retirement after Chevron wanted to relocate him again, this time to Houston, TX. That’s an example of where John’s priorities lie, outdoors on a trail or on a pair of skis. John brings his passion for outdoor pursuits, love of wild, mountain and desert spaces, and a desire to see recreational access carefully considered and implemented has been an incredible boon to Trails Utah.
