The Ferguson Bonneville Shoreline Trail section connecting to Big Cottonwood Canyon was finally completed by the USFS and Cottonwood Canyons Foundation and volunteers in summer 2023. This is a half-mile section connecting Ferguson Canyon to Big Cottonwood Canyon at the Dogwood Picnic Area. Our contractor, Nature Trails, completed the southerly section of this trail, and USFS is in charge of the final north-end connection to the Dogwood picnic area. Funding has been provided by the Central Wasatch Commission. This is a new section of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail between Ferguson Canyon trailhead and Dogwood picnic area in Big Cottonwood Canyon and is important because it is the first section of BST completed toward eventually connecting Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons.
