About the Artist:

Cody Chamberlain is a painter and mixed media artist who was born and raised in Utah, where he has been a professional artist for over a decade. His work is environmentally focused and informed by observation of the life cycle, and explores issues surrounding conservation, climate change and prehistoric anthropology. Chamberlain’s current focus is on highlighting the importance of preservation efforts for sensitive prehistoric sites in Utah. He believes there has been a lack of action to protect these important cultural artifacts and that art can inspire the activism needed for change. Chamberlain attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art & Visual Communications with an emphasis in painting from Utah Valley

University in 2009 and began participating in the most prestigious statewide art exhibitions serially shortly thereafter. Most recently, two of Chamberlain’s large-scale oil paintings were included in the Utah Division of Arts and Museums Statewide Annual Exhibition where he was awarded a Juror’s Award, an exhibition that ran concurrently with a solo showcase of his Mixed Media works in the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll. After the Statewide Annual Exhibition, he was commissioned by the State of Utah Alice Merrill Horne Acquisition Committee to create work for the State’s permanent art collection, a project slated for completion by October 2023.
