In 2021, Trails Utah worked with Extell Development, a private company currently building a mixed-use development on the back side of Deer Valley, directly across from the entrance to Jordanelle State Park.
Together, Trails Utah and Extell planned and developed an approximately 4-mile loop trail around what will eventually be a village center with shops and restaurants surrounded by a condominium community.
An extensive trail system is planned for the area, eventually connecting to trails around Jordanelle Reservoir and State Park and over to Heber and Wasatch Mountain State Park. Creative Trails, the Utah-based trail building company that built the loop trail, was retained by Extell to connect the Mayflower Loop Trail with the Spin-Cycle Trail in the fall. This trail segment effectively connects the Mayflower Loop Trail to Deer Valley and sprawling system of Park City Trails.
Trails Utah looks forward to partnering with Extell in the future to ensure this new public trail system will be a success and connect seamlessly to trails on adjacent public lands.
